For Partner Organizations

image description

SCOA is a fully-owned, California IPA whose steady growth of membership from 7 to 14 groups since 1999 and care of 30,000 cancer patients yearly attests to its unique success in uniting evidence-based cancer care with efficient resource utilization.

For Partner Organizations

A California Limited Partnership owned solely by oncologists, Southern California Oncology Associates (SCOA) excels at partnering with organizations including IPAs, Multi-Specialty Groups (MSGs), Health Plans and ACOs to deliver top of the line cancer therapies while maintaining focus on high-quality patient care.

The SCOA network came together in 1999 to provide a breadth of services to allow partner organizations to access quality medical oncology practices within their communities. Today, SCOA oncologists are responsible for over 625,000 lives throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties.

The success of the SCOA formula for partner organizations, as well as physicians and patients, proves that with willingness to work closely with PCPs and other oncologists, efficiency in both clinical services and financial management is attainable.

PRICING

SCOA provides all necessary, comprehensive service components for a competitive rate.

GUIDELINES

National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) clinical guidelines are used as a basis for all SCOA cancer care.

ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORDS (EHR)

SCOA has developed network-wide treatment templates and data capture fields for analysis and reporting across multiple sites and contracting groups.

Our proprietary EHR technology provides industry standard connectivity to IPA/MSG partners via Community Health Solutions (CHS) or customized data interchange, and maximizes clinical data flow by linking to area hospitals and outpatient diagnostic facilities.

SCOA has also executed a master agreement with NextGen as its technology provider.

Network-Wide Clinical Trials Program

SCOA is currently implementing a unique joint venture with Translational Research Management (TRM), a market leader in building networks of community-based medical oncology professionals dedicated to offering cutting edge research studies to their patients. This partnership will help create invaluable links between community oncologists, drug developers and patients.

Drug companies utilizing SCOA’s clinical trial network are ensured the proper placement of their trials. Electronic Health Records provides streamlined management of all trials, thus generating higher quality data and significantly faster results.

SCOA oncologists will then offer these novel therapeutics — including Phase 2 and 3 clinical trials — as an integrated part of their continuum of care, retaining their patients in community practices rather than referring them to tertiary centers.
