SCOA empowers physicians to maintain a strong commitment to collaboration and clinical innovation, while delivering consistent, high quality care.
In 1999, 42 oncologists in 7 Los Angeles and Orange County medical groups founded SCOA with the intention of using effective, community-based guidelines driven cancer care to managed care enrollees across Southern California.
The organization was an immediate success and an inspiring example of how collaboration and dedication to providing consistent quality care can be maintained despite continual clinical and pharmaceutical developments or impending changes in the national insurance infrastructure.
Today the SCOA network includes medical oncologists in 14 groups throughout the region, and continues to seek new physician partnerships. SCOA physicians benefit from a unique combination of practice management, technology, data analysis. consulting and administrative solutions that empower clinical innovation and high quality patient care within the parameters of effective cost management.
National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) clinical guidelines are used as a basis for all SCOA cancer care. In addition to following NCCN guidelines, SCOA utilizes its own proprietary guidelines to ensure high quality care.
